Hypnobirthing for a Calmer, More Confident Birth
When I first heard the word “Hypnobirthing,” I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Was it hypnosis? Was it meditation? Was it just positive thinking? The truth is, it’s not any one of those things—it’s something much deeper, and backed by science.
Hypnobirthing is about shifting the way we think about birth. It’s not about having a “perfect” experience or pretending things will go exactly according to plan. It’s about stepping into birth with calm, confidence, and evidence-based tools that help you work with your body, not against it.
For me, Hypnobirthing was a game changer.
It helped me understand how fear impacts the body during labor—and how things like breath work, relaxation techniques, and mindset can actually support your body in birthing more effectively. There’s real science behind why these methods help reduce stress hormones and increase comfort during birth.
Whether you're planning a home birth or delivering in a hospital, Hypnobirthing helps you feel more in control and supported.
One book I often recommend to my clients is Hypnobirthing: Practical Ways to Make Your Birth Better by Siobhan Miller. It’s approachable, well-researched, and full of practical tools. I love how it explains the “why” behind Hypnobirthing without feeling clinical or overwhelming. It’s perfect whether you’re brand new to the idea or already diving deep into your birth prep.
If you’ve ever felt nervous about birth, or if you're just craving a gentler, more empowered approach, this book is a wonderful place to start. And if we’re working together, I’m always happy to walk alongside you as you explore these practices, offering support that aligns with your values and hopes.
Birth doesn’t have to feel scary.
You can feel strong, calm, and prepared.
And Hypnobirthing might just be the evidence-based support you’ve been looking for.
If you’re preparing for birth and want a simple way to bring some of that calm, encouraging mindset into your space, I’ve also created printable birth affirmation cards designed for labor and birth. I have Christian and non-religious options, and they can be printed at home and used in a hospital room, home birth space, or tucked into your birth bag.
